Oliver's House
was established to uplift and assist
economically deprived communities in the
East Rand. This is done by supplying food
hampers to the destitute and to families
living below the breadline as well as
offering a free after-school education
service to learners who cannot afford
private tuition. |
|
Oliver's
House has a soup kitchen at 7 Rothsay
Street in Benoni CBD, which caters for
the needs of the less privileged in the
East Rand Area. The soup kitchen is run
and maintained by the employees of
Oliver's House.
|
|
Oliver's
House supports the Nomthandazo
Children's care Centre, which is a safe
haven for mentally handicapped and
learning impaired children. The aims of
this centre are to uplift these
children, to ensure they receive a
meaningful education and to provide a
support basis for their families.
|
|
A new Matric
Education centre is also operational.
The education centre operates along the
lines of the learning Channel as seen on
TV. Coordinated with the local schools
all training is provided at no cost to
the learners themselves.
|
|
Oliver's
House is not supported by the state
whatsoever and relies entirely on the
support of the public and private sector
in achieving their goals.
