Consulting Overview
HR and payroll consulting are core business functions at HR Focus. The consulting process includes both Installation Support Services and General Consulting Services.
 
Installation Support Services
Our first interaction with prospective customers usually occurs during the Business Analysis and Requirements Gathering phase of the project. During this phase, customer requirements are assessed and prioritised. These are then matched to application capabilities. Critical information, customisation and integration requirements are identified and project deliverables and milestones are agreed.
 
The Proposal and Contracting phase commences once all requirements have been analysed. It is important that sufficient information is available to enable accurate estimation of project effort, duration, risk and cost.
 
Once the proposal is accepted, the Take-on, Implementation and Training phase begins. During this phase, consultants collect, validate and capture information into the systems. They do this in accordance with defined procedures and with the help of assigned customer users.
 
Training on various system modules also starts at this time. This ensures customer users are familiar with the system workflow and take-on procedures. In addition, custom operation, integration and reports are carefully analysed, specified and documented in preparation for programming and testing. Much time is spent on user and acceptance testing by customer users during this time to ensure accurate and reliable results.
 
This phase usually spawns a host of customer projects when, for instance, organisational structures, succession plans, job profiles, performance standards and training plans are re-examined and updated, or created for the first time.
 
Finally the Testing and Sign-off phase commences. This is when the system undergoes final testing and is signed off in accordance with deliverables and milestones agreed at the outset. Customer change management procedures are initiated to “upskill” users and administrators and to move the systems to full production. The project now moves to a support status where issues and enhancements need to be logged and escalated through the HR Focus helpdesk.
 
General Consulting Services
HR Focus also provides HR and Payroll consulting services that include:
  • Position profile analysis and re-structure
  • Guidance on skills development and equity processes
  • Design and creation of advanced reports
  • On-site training and hand-holding to ensure maximum transfer of skills to users
